Straight from London

Apologies from London, while here and trying to update the blog, I cannot always put the photos where I want them so here are a few straggles that got left behind but deserve full attention thus I gave them their own posting!

Zaney Zandra Rhodes does it again with this Fuschia multi-layered bias-cut chiffon party dress. Of course dated to the 70s, the fluttered sleeves give additional life to this dress that is full of provocative and sensual movement. Care to show some skin, take a chance on me, this one says. SOLD

Layering strikes again in this vintage YSL Rive Gauche double chiffon polk-dot peasant skirt. Dated to the 70s this could be Yves' heyday of design. While some may say boho is out, if you are wearing YSL it will never be. SOLD

Rudi Gernreich's designs can sometimes be difficult for the typical lady of fashion to wear requiring finesse and bravery occasionally too. This halter on the other hand is so relaxed and easy to wear you can automatically make doing the house chores a fun runway of 70s fashion. Made of Silk the beige striping on the black background adds some drama to your daily errands. SOLD

That is why this wedding dress by steadfast London based designer Victor Edelstein is perfect for the rambunctious girl in all.

Made almost entirely of lace this gorgeous creation is cut high at the front and long at the back with a gorgeous train of lace covered tulle adding volume to an otherwise sexy strapless pencil skirted dress. Also on the back is a black velvet corsage with long ribbons flowing down.

For a slightly more daring wedding this dress is perfect with the low cut back and dramatic black flower. SOLD

This petite Haute Couture black gown from the 60s could do the same for you. The masterfully draped skirt and the precision of the top create a stunning silhouette for the wearer giving perfect Audrey Style. SOLD

From day into Night

This post bring three adorable timeless accessories and some amazing party frocks. See below for some inspirational dressing tips.

This first Hermes belt is in a word stunning. Dated from the 80s, it is made of white leather. However, upon closer inspection you can see that the belt is adorned with three gold ships' port-hole details each inlaid with Ostrich skin. The buckle is also wrapped in ostrich giving this belt a chic finishing touch. Sitting comfortably on your hips this belt is perfect for a weekend away in St. Tropez.

This 80s Hermes belt of red leather may appear simple but the devil is in the details. Fastened with a large gold buckle, this belt is unusual as it does not have your typical closing prong, rather it has a square stud that pierces the belt keeping it in place. An ingenious idea to give a little spunk to this belt. SOLD

This 60s Hermes Bordeaux colored leather belt is made for the equine lover. A large band separates into a double horse-bit detail which fastens with one buckle. The rings add some spark to this belt and it stays true to Hermes luxury sportswear. SOLD

And now, moving from day to night, we turn to the dresses.

First up is a Lina Lee LBD. This is no ordinary LBD however, as the neck-line plays with color blocked circular geometric shapes. Dated to the 80s, this crepe cocktail dress allows the wearer to be both elegant and understated yet captivating to all that catch a glimpse of her. Mystery is in the making.

Dear Geoffrey Beene has done it once again with this LBD. Dated to the late 80s and made of silk, this cocktail dress takes flirtation to a new level. Seemingly severe and sensible, this cut out dress shows just enough skin to get tongues wagging. Detailed with gold silver and black metallic velveteen this dress is sure to stay a winner in your closet. SOLD

Giorgio Sant Angelo struck gold not once, but twice with this dress. It is double layered making for a perky hemline. Dated to the 70s, and made of lilac crepe all this dress then needed was a belt and Sant Angelo delivered. Tied at the waist the silhouette is hallmark of the times but certainly not dated. You may hesitate when considering the color but truth be told, this color is great all year round, this dress will never go out of style. SOLD

Ceil Chapman at the Emmy's

On Sunday night Annette Bening wore vintage Ceil Chapman to the Emmy's. The cocktail length gown is oyster colored and dates from the late 1950s and is embroidered with crystal teardrops. Classic, gorgeous and a winner no matter what the occasion is. Of course another hit from Decades.

Kool Kelly's

Below you will find two gorgeous Hermes Kelly Bags.

The first is a Havana colored 28cm crocodile bag with gold hardware blind stamped to 2002. It is in amazing condition and having been purchased abroad has much better skin quality than those purchased domestically.

The second is also from 2002 and it is crimson red 28cm Kelly with gold hardware. The bag was also purchased abroad so the higher quality skin is also true for this bag. Sold

Both of these bags are more playful and youthful than a typical Kelly that can look quite severe. These bags are spectacular on their own but would be such an impact together. Perfect for a collector.

To begin with is this Oval shaped two tone structured purse. It is tan and navy leather and opens across the top. It also has a compartment on the base that opens for additional more secure storage. This bag is great for travel and is a young and playful interpretation of the Hermes aesthetic.

This Hermes Grand Sac Gabiciere in Black from the 50s is a terrific bag. It is made of toile and leather, is structured and is in fabulous condition. The hardware technology for this adjustment is very impressive. A very stylish bag if we may say so.

This Hermes Grand Sac Besace is dated to 1984. It is made in toile and Red Wine leather trim. The space in side is very ample and the day/chic quality is amazing. It is hard to find that perfect bag for the day that both is utilitarian and a statement. No backpacks allowed; this bag serves all your needs. Sold
