Loads of Leiber

No matter what your favorite color, shape or style, we have a bag for you. Just in are these six, yes SIX Judith Leiber bags, all in perfect condition. Let's get right to it, otherwise this post will be way too long. Bag number one is snakeskin in an eggplant color, with gold fixtures, embellished with semi-precious stones on the clasp. This bag has a very UNIQUE opening. There are four hinges, two in the center and one on each end. When you open the bag it has a rounded square shape. This bag comes with a gold chain shoulder strap that can be easily tucked into the purse.
The Second bag is an Espresso colored snakeskin with gold hardware that also has again been embellished with semi-precious stones. The stones studding this bag are small "Cat's eyes" or Chrysoberyl -- there are 14 total on the bag. This bag also comes with a removable snakeskin shoulder strap.
Bag number three is a pink snakeskin clutch. This clutch has a very subdued art deco style fixture and clasp on the top of the bag. What makes this bag special is the color! The skin has been dyed in such a way that there appears to be fuchsia diamonds floating in a sea of baby pink, very beautiful!
Behind door number four is a lovely champagne satin clutch with quilting detail. The hardware on this bag is gold, and there is a diamond shaped clasp on the top, embellished with a cream colored semi-precious stone.
Bag number five is a vibrant red snakeskin clutch with gold hardware in an art deco pattern. The interior of the bag is done is red grosgrain satin. This bag is gathered at the top giving it a ruched effect.
Finally the last of the new Judith Leiber bags, but certainly not the least. . . in fact, we've saved the best for last! This miniaudiere clutch is gold, covered with white crystals. The interior is gold leather, and there is a gold chain strap that can be tucked into the the bag when not in use. This is a stunning bag, the sort that Judith Leiber has become well know for producing -- a true work of art.

PAULINE TRIGERE FOR LABOR DAY

Pauline Trigere is an iconic American designer who doesn't turn up on the Decades Daily Arrival Blog often enough, unfortunately. We thought it very appropriate to applaud her work on the Eve of Labor Day Weekend. Although French-born, she immigrated to American is 1937 and opened her eponymous house five years later to great success.

This cotton voile Indian-inspired multi-color print dress is enhanced by sporadic Swarovski crystals interspersed through the long bell sleeve and round neck versatile dress. With a multitude of colors ranging from navy to fuchsia, what doesn't this dress match with, we ask? The dress is dramatic enough (check out the back) for a black-tie affair, yet, appropriate for an afternoon wedding or cocktails in Capri.

Secretary's Day

Today is Secretary's Day here at Decades, and we have the Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche blouses to prove it! The first blouse, in this bevy of printed silk, is a burgundy and cream squiggle pattern that has been dotted with muted blue, orange and pink sections. The sleeves are constructed in the princess fashion, gathered at the shoulder and the cuff. This blouse comes with a detached scarf that can be worn as a belt, bow, or headband.

The second blouse is navy blue with an extremely interesting red and cream mushroom pattern. Apparently secretaries love princess sleeves, because all three of these blouses have the same gathering at the cuff and shoulder. What makes this blouse different from the other two is the V neck and the thin sewn on scarf that wraps around the back to create a collar.

Finally, behind door number three, is a black blouse with an orange, green, red, and purple floral print design. Again, this blouse is made of the same silk and has similar sleeves to the previous two. What separates this blouse from the flock is the ruffled mandarin collar that has a detached matching scarf done in the same material. If you enjoy printed silk blouses, come and get it!

These would all look great tucked into a high waist solid color skirt with some four inch pumps. Administrative assistants have never looked so good!

DEPARTURES MAGAZINE

If you hold a Platinum or Centurion card, do read the wonderful September issue of Departures. Decades owner Cameron Silver is also a Contributing Editor at the magazine and his Q&A on exotic skins is informative and very Decades!

THE MANY SHADES OF HALSTON

We promised you Halston yesterday to match the fantastic Gucci minaudiere sterling roil evening bag, and we are here to deliver! The first tangerine chiffon gown features a cascade of fabric from the shoulders down the back which one ties around the waist for a full Goddess-effect. With a peak-a-boo lining of coral, the dress has wonderful drama when one walks. There's also a great neck scarf/shoulder wrap that is a great necessity when on a cool night.

The second Halston is a one shoulder multi-tiered crepe jersey Toga gown that hits at the calf and begs for a pair of Jimmy Choo dramatic strappy heels. It's a perfect example of Halston and a great dress to wear in a multitude of ways with fantastic accessories.

DIDN'T WIN THE GOLD?

What if Michael Phelps took home 8 Silver Olympic medals instead of 8 Gold medals? There's all this talk of gold, gold, gold post-Olympics, but we think Silver is a groovy alternative and this vintage Gucci sterling silver minaudiere from the 1970s is sleek, sexy, and medal-worthy here at Decades. The ribbed roll fits great in one's hand and although it won't fit your I-Phone, the Motorola Razor fits just fine. It's stamped "925" for Sterling Silver, so one may always melt this down and sell it to a dentist to make fillings, if the going gets tough.

We love this minaudiere with one of the 1970s-era Halston gowns we will be posting tomorrow!

MORE BLOUSES

We have a LOT of blouses to post over the next week, but our fingers can only type so fast! We are starting with two lovely off-white blouses from the mid 1980s by Chanel and Alaia, respectively. The Chanel blouse is reminiscent of a men's Charvet tux shirt, but in fluid ribbed silk with interwoven "CC" pearl logo buttons and french cuffs. If you were to throw on boyfriend's shirt to sleep in after attending a Black Tie affair, this would be your dream shirt! It's a bit oversized and we hope you might steal your boyfriend's Seaman Schepps cufflinks to complete the look.

The Alaia blouse is wonderfully detailed with beautiful pleats that nip in at your waist and a twin set of buttons going down the front of the blouse. A blend of Cupro and Viscose (remember Cupro in the 80s?), we think this is a great 40s-inspired blouse from the great 1980s.
