Rachel Griffiths attended the Hammer Gala a couple months ago wearing vintage Louis Feraud from yours truly Decades. We just received this image and we have to say she looked absolutely gorgeous. The slicked back hair, simple earrings, and geometric Feraud... so chic!

WHERE'D YOU LEAVE THE SLEEVE?
We recently posted a very similar Bill Blass dress in red but in a short cocktail length. We are delighted to discover the very same dress but in a full length, vibrant green version. The one sleeve silk crepe gown drapes at the back of the shoulders and around the hips with a dramatic seam, but is otherwise designed without affectation or bells and whistles. That is up to you: stylize with attitude and accessories!

MORE KARL FOR CHLOE
We are lucky to have another Karl Lagerfeld for Chloe 70s era dress to share with you today. This is from the same Bloomingdale's buyer who was partial to Chloe and scooped up some of the most prized looks from his legendary Chloe collections of The Beautiful Fall decade. This navy ribbed wool dress features gold lurex trim, 1930s inspired embroidery, and fantastic textured brass metal balls as buttons. Lots of details and luxurious techniques in the tradition of Chloe's definition of a new Ready-to-Wear format that incorporated Haute Couture skills but in a much less rigid format which makes this dress an ideal example of the Karl Lagerfeld heyday for Chloe in the 1970s. Wear this with a pair of boots...tonight!

Cuffed Away
It may have taken some time to post these Chanel stunners but come on... they're totally worth the wait, right? From the ultra sleek gold and black 2 1/2 inch cuff to the fun red and grey faux Tahitian pearl option. With an assortment like this, there's one in here for everyone! Maybe you're the timeless pearl cuff with eye-popping tear drop pearls, or how about the out-of-this-world moons & stars black resin cuff? Ohh, decisions decisions.... DECADES DENIM IN ST LOUIS!
Our friend Mallory went home to St. Louis for Thanksgiving and stopped by the charming store Vie on Clayton Place and picked up a pair of the Decades Denim Nadja stretch velvet jeans and snapped this photo for us to share with you! Thanks Mallory! If you haven't bought a pair yet, get them as they are only $129 and are really an amazing investment at a low price but with a lot of style! Check out Mallory's chic jewelry collection.
SORT OF 30S/SORT OF 40S/BUT TOTALLY 70S
Karl Lagerfeld really shaped the look of Chloe in the 1970s giving the Chloe client a cool-girl vibe with a slice of Bohemia and a little vintage flair (sort of how it looks today, too). Although the brand was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion who envisioned an alternative to the Haute Couture rigid format, it was Lagerfeld who really made the luxe ready to wear concept of Chloe and it's style one of the emblematic brands of the 1970s. The grey crepe dress that KL designed belonged to a buyer at Bloomingdale's who was a big Chloe fan and bought the collection for the store. She explained that this particular dress had a strictly limited production (not like Chloe today which is rather ubiquitous). We've taken lots of detailed photos of the embroidery which is evocative of the late 1930s. That's what we love about this dress. It's a vintage dress from the early 1970s that looks like a vintage dress from the late 1930s or early 1940s. It's double plus good vintage! We are always partial to chic long sleeve dresses and this is a triumphant design that is in a sophisticated hue with unexpected embroidery.

THANKSGIVING CHIC
We want to give thanks to dear friend and client of Decades, Jennie Chiu. The "paparazzi" snapped this photo of Jennie on Thanksgiving when she was wearing the most delicious pair of cropped Decades Denim Ali cargo pants in moonless sky. They look so great on Jennie. Thanks for sharing this and we advise our friends and clients to get chic and buy a pair! They are only $129!
Bittersweet Travesty
Just a few days ago the most gorgeous Traina-Norell gown, in a dove grey jersey with platinum sequins made its way into our store. Fortunately and unfortunately the dress was such a stunner it sold before we could even photograph it for our beloved followers. However, the daughter of the original owner sent us this absolutely glorious vintage photograph of her mother wearing the Traina-Norell. This photograph epitomizes vintage glamour and we could not be happier to share this with all of you! We're hoping the new owner sends us a photo of herself in the gown to watch this early 1950s Traina-Norell throughout the Decades!

PLUCK MY FEATHERS
We doubt many of the American clients of Decades are spending the day before Thanksgiving plucking feathers off their turkeys. Rather, we envision the fashionable set wearing feathers. Perhaps this maxi white marabou feather cape isn't the ideal Thanksgiving attire, but we thought on the day before our national holiday, this was the perfect item to post.
If you are an avid reader of this blog, you will note that we love feathers and capes. They aren't just for Liberace wanna-bees. The full length cape with convenient arm slits and optional hook and eye closure at the top whets our appetite more than the Gardein faux turkey we will serve at our Thanksgiving. Wear this over every evening gown you own and you will have the ultimate dressed-up cover-up. How chic is this for a Winter Ball, such as the Winter Wonderland Ball at the Botanical Garden of the Bronx Zoo next month? Feel like a 60s showgirl and spend New Year's Eve in Vegas with this concoction draped over your shoulders. Decades is all about vintage glamour, and we just plucked one of the best options in our arsenal of recent acquisitions to make you feel light as a feather and as glorious as a peacock!
