Trompe l'oeil

In French Trompe l'oeil means to "fool the eye," and that is what this dress does in a most fabulous way. The dress is made of a cream cotton, the navy lace design is printed on. For added effect the bottom of the skirt and the top have been scalloped. The final touch is a navy velvet waist tie with two long strips hanging down in the front. The dress is labeled Mam'selle by Betty Carol which was one of the Seventh Ave. junior labels in the 50's and 60's.

Mam'selle by Betty Carol cream and navy lace print dress, c.1950's. Marked size 11, contemporary size 4-6
