I am not afraid to addmitt that I am a fan of Sex and the City, and as every devoted fan I of course watched both features after the TV show ended. I have to say, the highlight of the second one was Liza Minelli's performance.
She looked radiant, happy and in true Liza form she rocked a sequined top with black leggings and black boots. So, when this Lancetti Alta Moda sequined chiffon blouse arrived in our studio it immediatley reminded us of something Liza would wear. Cameron is a fan of Liza's as well and he was lucky enough to see her perform live at the The Palace in New York a couple of years ago. He remembers Liza wearing a dramatic sequined top, of course!
Lancetti was famous for drama and glamour in his designs, and this top embodies both. This piece is part of one of the last collections showing regularely in Rome before the Alta Moda season disintegrated in the mid 70's. The sequins sewn onto chiffon, create a very art deco pattern with black and silver stripes going vertically. We paired it with a mini skirt but you can wear it with a pencil skirt or tuxedo trousers for evening and with skinny black jeans for day.
