Maybe we should change the title of this post, but regretably, if one trend emerged in 2007, it was a flash of the crotch. Seriously, is there a tween star who didn't show the world her private parts? Well, this posting is for you...for the stars who got DUIs (albeit DUIs issued to underage drivers!); the stars who went to rehab and rehabbed again and again; the stars who got pregnant and had a guessing game as to whom their baby's daddy was; but really it's about the stars who managed to exit every taxi, town car, limo, SUV, and Prius, and managed to show us where the sun don't shine and how often they see their bikini waxer. We thank you stars of tomorrow. Who from this batch of supreme talent will be the next Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth, or Grace Kelly?

CHARMING CHANEL

This will be one of our last blog entrees of 2007. We feel the beginning of a tear forming, but we promise to be strong. This Hermes gold 25 cm Swift Leather Kelly has never been used. Brand new and in the box from 2006 (J Stamp) with gold hardware. It's as if you bought it from Hermes, where the bag retails for around $4850. You will pay around the same price for it at Decades, but who knows where you can find this particular bag at Hermes these days following Christmas. Plus, if you don't live in the State of California, we can ship it out of state or out of the country and save you tax (around $400).

MIDNIGHT BLUE CHANEL

Certainly you know of our obsession with all things in midnight blue. It's one of the great alternatives to dependable black, but with a little relief. This Chanel Boutique by Karl Lagerfeld evening gown from the late 1980s features thick straps, a pleated bodice with a wonderful blouson waist. We love the "Cowl"-effect of the back and how the skirt (check out the flat pockets on the hips) gatherers to a fishtail illusion at the knee and a sensible slit. This is a very accommodating and flattering dress, too. If you are the type who always is drawn to black, may we suggest a detour to midnight blue.

HERVE LEGER COUTURE

We decided to post this Herve Leger Couture iconic bandage dress back to front, but it wasn't intentional, to be perfectly honest! There are no mistakes in life, so we have realized that the shoulder line is so fantastic that it almost gets a highlight by looking at the dress from the back. But the front is amazing (dig the zig zag bandage detail) and the side profile is pretty incredible, too. This dress is the Couture label and was retailed at Bergdorf Goodman in the late 1980s or very early 1990s...at the height of Herve Leger's moment. Now that Leger is having yet another moment, 18 years later, we hope one of our blog readers will be thrilled to have an original in a fantastic shade of very light powdered rose.

Y WE LOVE YOU

When it rains, it pours, and we have received "le" mother lode of early 1980s YSL Rive Gauche silk blouses that we will post sporadically through the next few weeks. A YSL blouse is very Decades 101...we think you should have a dozen of them because the prints and colors are awesome and they work with jeans or a bit more dressy with a high-waist pant or slim skirt. And the little tie fronts are really sexy....wear them tied low and they become flirty or have one strap wrap around your neck for a little come-hither action. Now if you have a meeting with the Pope, where the straps knotted in a high bow and you are not to offend. A lot of the blouses have after market shoulder pads...some of you may big the bolder shoulder, but all you need is a seam ripper or a pair of small scissors to remove the pad and go back to natural shoulder. It was the 1980s and women wore swimsuits with shoulder pads!

BRING ON THE BIRKIN

Hermes fans rejoice! We finally have an ideally sized 35 cm Birkin in Taurillon Clemence leather to satiate the hundreds of email requests we have received in the last few weeks for a similarly sized Birkin. The color is what we call "butter" it's not golden but more a muted yellow tone. The palladium hardware is still covered in it's original plastic and the bag appears unused. It is F stamped for 2002. It doesn't come with a box, but it does come with a smile...and a sleeper bag. The lock is intact too. We hope you love the color of this incredibly neutral Birkin...

WHAT YOU WANT TO WEAR RIGHT NOW

They are perfect for day (we mean you can wear these today!), but can easily transition to nighttime. They are also the type of dresses you can wear with tights and boots, so when it's cold outside, these dresses work well with layers. Before we wish you a wonderful Christmas, we want to leave you with an Absolutely Fabulous Pierre Cardin Haute Couture ball gown from the late 1970s. Talk about eye candy! This rose pink degrade ball gown features a boned bodice, wide belt, and an asymmetric over-skirt that literally explodes over a foundation skirt. Drama MAMA!
