Norman Norell was great at a LBD, but not in a Parisian mode. A Norell LBD was American chic and continues to be oft-copied. Case in point: this round neck dress with gathered waist and large hip pockets. Fully functional and a wee-bit sporty, no? There is nothing anachronistic about this dress. It's totally relevant today and we see designers doing variations of this wool crepe dress season after season. I would suggest adding a "sassy" bright belt and shoes for a punch of color. How would you style this 60s dress to keep it 21st century chic? And how do you think Norell's iconic LBD compares to that of Givenchy?
