BLASS, REALLY BLASS!

When this 1970s era Bill Blass chiffon print halter dress came our way, we all had a double take. After all, the red dot print on egg shell chiffon is vaguely reminiscent of Celia Birtwell; the bugle bead asymmetric sash seems more Disco Downtown Diva, than Park Avenue socialite, and the halter plunges low in the front and the back...in other words, not what we typically expect from the master of Ladies Who Lunch attire. All these contradictions, make the dress even more special.

We have been encouraging prints from a while now, and we feel this print may just be the right option and introduction for those with print "reservations." The sash may be tied around the waist and hang in the front or the back and the intricate bugle bead work was just expertly restored by local nimble hands. We love unexpected designs from great names and we are thrilled to share this Bill Blass with you.
