BLASS WITH CLASS

Oh poor Bill Blass. One of the great names in American Fashion, the House of Bill Blass has had quite a lot of turmoil since the great master's retirement in 1999 and passing in 2002. Various owners and designers have tried to keep the runway collection strong to questionable degrees of success. While the post-Bill Blass designs may not always satisfy, we are happy to deliver a fantastic late 1970s ivory Bill Blass-designed Blass that is a reminder of the brilliance of Blass that is sure to satiate the most discriminating of Decades clients.

The cream silk crepe gown is a very clever reverse cut-out halter design. The front of the dress looks like a strapless goddess gown. However, the "strapless" dress is attached to a V-shaped reverse halter. When one turns around, the dress has a tasteful V cut-out that masks the drama of the front. We love gowns that tell different stories going and coming and surely this is a prime example. Dramatic in front, demure in the back. Imagine the stories you will tell after you wear this sublime example of American fashion.
