Call us crazy but we are totally champions of the bolero. At Decades, we have a soft spot for boleros. When we combine that love with our soft spot for vintage Jean Louis Scherrer we are higher than a morphine drip. Let us explain why we love boleros: they are practical. You are going to a black tie and you need a cover-up that is functional and fun and you aren't in the mood for fur, you throw on a bolero. But boleros aren't just for Princess Diana-approved gowns. They are fab with a cheap and chic Sébastien Tellier for American Apparel sheer jersey scoop neck tee with an exposed bra and Elise Overland leather leggings for a rocker chic look. The velvet Scherrer Haute Couture bolero below is Lesage embroidered and reminds us of a men's cutaway jacket with the paillette enhanced collar. The Swarovski crystal trim and leaf motif pattern are very unusual and certain to entertain party revelers this festive season. We think our excitement for boleros is starting to excite our clients, too. While in Dallas this past weekend for our annual trunk show at fabulous Forty Five Ten, we sold two boleros the first day of the event!
