In 1905 Jean-Baptiste Morabito founded the House of
Morabito in Nice, France. It began as a jewelry company making pieces for the Aristocracy and Royalty of Europe. Once having opened their first Parisian boutique in 1923 he began to experiment with exotic skins and leather creating precious handbags in deer and antelope and trunks in elephant and crocodile. The cases were embellished with tortoiseshell, ivory and crystals or mother-of-pearl and enamel. Having grown famous for their use of crocodile the company continued to grow over the following century. Still today Morabito is known for its French refinement and quality of product.
