Glamorous Evening Gowns by Galanos and Norell

Exciting young talent like Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, and Peter Som (who was recently tapped to helm the venerated label Bill Blass) have put the buzz back in American fashion over the last few years. But before these youngsters were even born, great American designers Norman Norell and James Galanos were creating innovative, beautifully cut eveningwear that gave the finest French couturiers a run for their money. We've been lucky enough to get our hands on some of these priceless gems, posted below. Each features exquisite embroidery for a woman who's not afraid to light up the room. And, as is always the case when we must resort to a human model, each of these dresses is tiny!
