WHAT NOT TO WEAR TO THE TONYS

The Tonys may be Sunday and this may be the Summer of the Harem pant, but may these two facts NEVER collide. Rather, enjoy the Broadway stars on Sunday and watch the show from the comfort of your couch in this late 1970s Loris Azzaro cream jersey harem pant and top set that is as comfortable to wear as the couch on which you sit! Yes, this ensemble is the equivalent of shabby chic ready to wear, but without any notion of shabby-ocity! We must admit we have had dubious thoughts about harem pants. Drop waists are just droopy, but when the sun is shining and you want to make a statement with some sandals, then turn up the heat on your style with something a little Middle Eastern-inspired.
Let's start bottom up: These cream jersey harem pants are the Mother of all harem pants. Almost like jodhpurs, they are full and gathered at the hips and narrow from the knee to the ankle. These are the pants EVERYONE else is trying to do, but Mr. Azzaro did so effortlessly. As for the blouse, the gathered waist and cuff top is not just for these pants. It's a great blouse with a pair of skinny jeans or even with a pair of short-shorts. The ensemble together is both editorial and elegant. Because it's jersey, we have a feeling you know what we will say next: it's travel friendly!

This may not be dressy enough for the Tonys, but it certainly is an alternative to traditional cocktail attire, especially with great Kara Ross jewelry!
