Although we often think of Rudi Gernreich for his bold colors and cutouts and mix patterns, we sometimes receive what I might call "monastic" Gernreich like this lime linen mandarin collar dress with cap sleeve and single inverted pleat.  It doesn't look overtly 1960s.  It's age is almost mysterious as it wouldn't be ridiculous to imagine this dress on a 1980s Stephen Sprouse runway or a minimalist designer's 1990s fashion show.  I love a design that doesn't look dated.  This could be Raf Simons for Jil Sander or Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein THIS season.  Alas it's a very early 1960s Rudi Gernreich dress that's readyy for a modernist decade dealer!

Rudi Gernreich lime linen monastic dress, c. early 1960s. Modern size 4-6. SOLD
