THE HAUGHTIEST OF THE HAUTE

We have a lot of major costume jewelry to post and this outstanding necklace probably takes the cake. Designed by Robert Goossens for Chanel in 1985, this piece of art features four rows of white Gripoix pearls connecting to four rectangular medallions of gold metal with imitation ruby accents. A large pendant of ruby, amethyst, green cabochons is surrounded by an intricate swirl of crystal diamonds delicately placed among the gold base. For a little extra drama, a large tear of ruby glass hangs from the pendant. This is the type of costume jewelry that takes your breath away. Yes, it's practically the price of a gently-used Honda, but this is Chanel and it's certainly an outstanding example of Chanel Haute Couture jewelry from the start of Lagerfeld's amazing reign and designed by the incomprable Robert Goossens. Save up your pennies and invest in this Chanel -- unlike the stock market as of late, this is an investment that can only go up and away. We will post more Goossens designed Chanel, as well as Goossens for Yves Saint Laurent jewelry this week and some House of Goossens signed jewelry, too!
