SUNDAY FASHION MUSING

I am going through all the Spring 2012 fashion shows and reading the reviews and commentary. Eric Wilson and Cathy Horyn have distilled the NY Spring 2012 trends: color, print, sport, jackets, and long sleeve dresses. This is nothing new for the Decades client: She loves bright YSL silk blouses (wear them oversized as a dress with a pair of sheer tights and heels a la Elaine Stritch); she loves floral prints and has a penchant for Annabelle dresses of the 70s; for her apres-sportif looks she goes to 60s Hermes; her jackets come from 60s Chanel Haute Couture; and her long sleeve dresses often combine three trends in one from YSL in color, print, sleeve and skirt length.

Remember vintage is almost always the inspiration for a modern trend. Don't wait until Spring 2012 to be in the moment. The Decades client is a trend setter, not a follower. Stay modern by wearing vintage.
