TAYLOR/HILTON/WILDING/TODD/FISHER/BURTON/BURTON/WARNER/FORTENSY/

You may ask yourself what does "TAYLOR/HILTON/WILDING/TODD/FISHER/BURTON/BURTON/WARNER/FORTENSKY" have to do with the vintage Emanuel Ungaro dress below? Well think about how many designers have served as Creative Director of Ungaro since Monsieur Ungaro retired:
Giambattista Valli
Vincent Darre
Peter Dundas
Esteban Cortazar
Estrella Archs
Sort of Lindsay Lohan
Giles Deacon

Okay so the House of Ungaro has not been "married" as many times as the late Elizabeth Taylor, but with seven creative directors in around a decade, can this House survive? It sure should since Ungaro has always been one of my favorites. His use of color; the femininity of design; elegance that mixes with modernity with the past. The man trained with Balenciaga. He knew how to make a woman look spectacular. Take for example this pleated fuchsia evening gown that reminds me of a 30s movie star but in a pop of color that is very late 1980s. The Deco strass clips add a touch of sparkle and cross-over bust line is so flattering on the bosom.

This is not a gown strictly for the hyphenated last name set. However, don't be surprised if someone wants to add their initials to your monogram when you wear this.
