Store Manager for Los Angeles –
The In-Store Manager must oversee all Decades daily operations. S/he must supervise the activities of the sales, buying and online teams, delegate responsibility for each team’s task lists from conception to completion, providing each team with direction and strategic overviews, in order to achieve store/team goals, exceed client care expectations and expand our existing consignor base of over 3000. Obviously, this candidate must be a leader, have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, exceptional management skills as this position manages upwards to company owners as well as supervises staff of twelve. A strong knowledge of fashion—both trends, history and modern and vintage designers. The candidate should have strong and vibrant merchandising skills, an existing solid client book, and superb client care skills. Extreme organization is a must as is an ability to multi-task and act calmly and collected in a fast paced environment. Previous experience of 5-7 in a luxury retail environment is a requirement. This internship will be integral part of our operation, working hands-on alongside our buying team, our sales and style consultants, all web operations, including a high-volume e-commerce site, our merchandising teams, and not to mention lending an eye to assist in curating the Decades vintage couture and modern designer collections. While we will also need help with general clerical duties, this is definitely more than a “coffee-run and dry-cleaning-pick-up” sort of position. We want our interns to pitch-in and become essential members to the Decades day to day operations. As such, we are looking for reliable individuals who are team players, are highly motivated, detail oriented, have excellent written and verbal skills, and a passion for fashion, are neat and presentable, especially when dealing one-on-one with our clients, have a professional yet enthusiastic manner, and are energetic with a positive attitude. This an unpaid internship and we are happy to give college credit. We will need our interns a minimum of 2-3 full 8 hour days per week, plus assisting our staff at the occasional night-time/weekend event.
