It is a print moment in fashion. Think of Jason Wu's colorful ladylike dresses, Rodarte's florals, and one of my personal favorites, LA's very own Trina Turk who makes retro prints look fresh and festive. This 1960s Donald Brooks is particularly interesting to me because it's a bold print but in subtle shades of greige, one of my favorite neutrals. I've called this post "Hostess with the Mostess" because the empire waist dress has maxi sleeves without being a maxi dress so it's perfect for the modern hostess. I've also noticed that everyone around me seems to be preggers, so this is just the right dress to wear when you have a maxi bump, too. However, it's just as wearable when your tummy is flat, too!

Donald Brooks shades of greige print maxi sleeve short hostess dress, c. 1960s. Free size over lay, fitted modern 2 to 6 under-dress. Spot as shown.
