Dior by Ferre

He may have departed this world, but Gianfranco Ferre's designs will live on forever here at Decades, and in the closets of those who recognize true fashion genius. Here we have a fine example of what Dior became under the watchful eyes of Ferre. Following Marc Bohan, Ferre became head of design at Christian Dior in 1989 until 1996. The gown is from the "Gauche collection of the early 1990's. This lovely has a milk chocolate macrame halter top that ends at the waist. The skirt is constructed from several layers, the top is a cotton voile with a horizontal striped patter. Under the top layer are several layers of black tulle that have been lined with white lace ribbon. The tulle gives the gown a tremendous amount of volume, and is perfectly conducive to dancing and spinning.

Christian Dior macrame top gown with voile and tulle skirt, c. early 1990's. Contemporary size 8. SOLD
