LV wants in on the action

We meant to get more of the vintage Chanel jewels up today, but our Internet is down in the historic 1926 building that houses both Decades and Decadestwo.1. This is what the rain has done! We are hoping to have Internet up again tomorrow at both stores, but I am actually blogging from home...in bed...in sweats. Not the typical attire you might see me wearing normally chez Decades, but the show must go on...

As many of you have been reading, Bernard Arnault is buying up Hermes stock like crazy. LVMH now has over a 20% stake in the family controlled Hermes. It's quite the luxury business story.
I think one of the most iconic Vuitton bags is the classic Speedy which comes in many sizes and I assume the handbag version was inspired by the luggage version. The Victoria 35cm bag below is a condensed version of a classic piece of Hermes luggage, too. We have a very collectible vintage version that we posted last week and you can click here to see it. Like a Speedy (gosh if anyone from the Hermes family reads this I hope they forgive me for making a comparison between LV and Hermes!), this bag has an easy access zipper running the body of the bag and is super light with a chevron linen lining. It's what I would call ultra-efficient, practical, and in the neutral taupe color and delicious Taurillion Clemence leather, a great investment since the bag is so classic and based on a perfect vintage model that's been tested on many a voyage. We are selling it for a little under half of retail. Pre-owned, but gently used, it's a good addition to a wardrobe of a woman (or a man -- this is really gender neutral) who wants to increase his or her Hermes stock in the closet! You will have to fit with LVMH for the other stock...
