Today Gallay, Tomorrow the World!

Charles Gallay and his wife owned and operated what was the most Avant-garde boutique Los Angeles had ever seen. The Gallays were the first to carry lines such as Margiela, Rick Owens, Jean Muir, Sonia Rykiel and so on. Let's just say he was on the cutting edge of fashion and if you want to read about Charles and his wife Madeleine click here. The dress below is black chiffon with tie-dye stripes in a muted yellow, green, orange and dusty rose. The off-the-shoulder flamenco top and pouf sleeves give this dress a very whimsical feel. This if perfect if you are headed somewhere sunny and humid (Florida/Hawaii) there could not be a better outfit. Just throw it over a swimsuit, add some earrings, belt it to reveal that beach bod, and it's time to hit the town. Some of the pics below are shown belted, others show the dress as it was meant to be worn. The Yves Saint Laurent belt shown in the pictures is available, but sold separately.
