Tres Especial des Yves Saint Laurent (deux)

The ensemble below comes from one of the most well known collections in fashion, Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture "Opera-Ballets russes" Spring/Summer 1976 collection. For those of you unfamiliar with this collection here is what Vogue and the New York Times had to say at the time.

-"It strikingly illustrates the degree of sophistication attained by fashion's analysis of history . . . . It's not nostalgia for the past, but for the eternal present which lies on the other side of the past." - (Pierre Schneider, U.S. Vogue, September 1976)

-" A revolutionary collection which will change the course of fashion in the world" -(Bernadine Morris, New York Times)

The three piece set consists of a blouse, belt, and a skirt. The blouse is gauze with beading around the neck, shoulders, arms, and cuffs. The skirt is in burgundy velvet and the belt is a strip of burgundy suede embroidered with a gold rope pattern. On either end of the belt is a burgundy and gold rope tassel that serves as the tie. This is truly a piece of fashion history. We are selling it as a complete ensemble; none of the three items will be sold separately.
