COCO’S SEAL OF APPROVAL

She famously said that elegance is in the lines. Coco Chanel was a passionate fan of the horses and was seen often at the races. She paid attention at the lines of the quilted jackets of the men working the stables and that became and inspiration for Chanel who appreciated the graphic and the flexibility of the fabric. And so the quilted handbag was born first in jersey and then in leather. In this photo Coco Chanel, wearing the bag in jersey is photographed in the 50’s at the races. We have the same bag from an equally elegant woman from Washington DC who at the time would take several trips to Paris to shop mostly Chanel and Hermes. Chic women understand other chic woman and what a better advise on what to buy when Coco Chanel has personally approved.

FUR REAL

Most gals can incorporate a 2.55 or classic flap, easy, no problem. But, it takes a special gal with that infamous franco je ne sais quoi to rock this baby. It's loud. It's proud. It's covered in bouclé, fur, tweed, and quilted leather and looks pretty darn chic without seeming like someone at Coco headquarters raided the fabric swatch closet after a few too many prosecco's. Not an easy feat.

BACKPACK STORIES

Backpacks, much like television, laptops and netflix, are one of those modern conveniences that we take for granted today. This incredibly practical catchall have become part of our everyday lives especially this 80's Chanel made from such soft leather, with gold hardware and the size that allows to be carried out to dinner and during the day shopping.

'ROUND MIDNIGHT

Midnight blue is one of my favorite colors. I like it worn mid-day and mid-night! However, when wearing a midnight blue gown in the evening, the proper evening bag may not be as easy to match. Of course you can opt for black or an unexpected pop of color, but what of a midnight blue silk Chanel shoulder bag? Dark Chocolate is Good for You

Especially when it's a Chanel dark chocolate tote! This lovely lambskin tote has a series of three CC logos on the bottom of the bag, just in case you forget who made it. There are two exterior pockets and two interior zipper pockets allowing for an abundance of room to schlep those wares.

We're not telling you that you should brand you yourself... but when the brand is so good, why not? Below we have two perfect totes for your Spring/Summer schlepping by Chanel.

The first is a classic medium size black lambskin logo tote with two exterior pockets. There are also two interior pockets for all your storage needs, and nice leather straps between the chain links to keep those shoulders comfy. Second up is a nice deep black caviar leather tote with leather straps. There is a large CC logo on one side and two interior pockets. Both of these bags are in excellent condition.
