SUMMER OF LOVE

Has anyone noticed the weather outside? Baby, it ain't cold, it's summer...and we are feeling the love. We can't contemplate any cashmere, vicuna, Bargouzine sable, or anything to keep us warm (put the coats and suits in the back of your closet)...we want to be nudists when it's boiling outside, but in lieu of being arrested, we offer you summer dress sensations! We will be posing Pucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Ossie Clark, Halston, and other great day and day-to-evening summer dresses this week.

The first option below is a perfect Pucci black, grey, and pink three-quarter sleeve silk jersey dress that you can pull and pull off in one quick "swoop." It won't take room in your suitcase (and you aren't the type to check luggage anyway) so throw it in the bottom of the 40cm Birkin (wrapped in zip lock bag) and you can wear it with flip-flops for brunch, metallic sandals for cocktails, and strappy heels for dinner. Day-to-evening ....and light as a feather!

Emilio Pucci black, grey, and pink 3/4 sleeve round neck dress, c 1960s. Marked Size 8, modern 4 SOLD

PUCCI VS LEONARD

Which way do you go: Emilio Pucci or Leonard? These two competing wonders of the print worlds share a divine design and the Midas touch with swirling dervishes of zigs and zags amidst bursts of flowers and hallucinating mind blowers.

We are presenting two dresses below that represent each of the fabulous print houses and actually share something in common: a shades-of-brown color story. The Emilio Pucci is a long sleeve and round neck dress in stripes of gold and brown, boarded by a vaguely tribal-meets-geometric pattern. The Leonard dress has a slight V-neck and its heavily detailed pattern includes abstract swishes in gold, orange, brown, and violet.

If you can't choose which way you go (Pucci or Leonard), we say go both ways! Two loves are better than one.

FORGET YOUR TROUBLES, COLOR IS HERE!

Okay, the price of oil is skyrocketing, the exchange rate between the Euro and US Dollar is painful, and Britney Spears has a new album called "Blackout." So on this day after Halloween, we propose some color in the world with fabulous designer labels attached.

No one mastered color better than Emilio Pucci and this is extraordinary 60s evening jacket with elaborate embroidery gives testament of his genius with the colors of a rainbow. The jacket has a simple construction that zips up the front and bracelet sleeves. The intricate embroidery was reserved for only the top tier Emilio Pucci FIRENZE black label evening pieces which are rather rare and this one is in very tip-top condition except for some minor underarm discoloration (we wish it was absolutely perfect, but we weren't going to pass on such a gorgeous piece of Art over the subtle compromises). It's a once-in-a-lifetime purchase opportunity for the right savvy Decades shopper. We don't have to tell you how we suggest you need to wear it...the possibilities are endless!

Emilio Pucci Firenze Couture embroidered evening jacket, c. 1960s. Marked size 16, fits a contemporary size 6 to 8. SOLD

The Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche bright red cocktail dress is a style we have had at Decades before and the dress always sells. We love a sexy long sleeve dress, and the deep V-plunge along with the gold coral and red glass brooch make this extra special. Be the Lady in Red and watch what happens!
