RED CARPET READY

We all agree that this has been the worst red carpet season ever with very few exceptions, Anne Hathaway in Chanel Haute Couture being one. Whether it is a matter of taste or obligations, the red carpet ladies have been un inspired this season. We at Decades always advise that when in doubt trust the master of classic elegance; Monsieur Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. This dress below is strapless light weight chiffon with a stunning pin; a blue Gripoix stone in the center surrounded by pearls finished off by three pearl 'pillars' and a jade stone. The suspended sleeves with a bow and slit, add femininity to this fabulous gown. It is timeless, sexy and the dark navy, that we love so much, is a great alternative to black. In perfect condition and red carpet ready!

MADEMOISELLE IN CHIFFON

When Lagerfeld took all the fashion elite to New York's train station to present his 2007 cruise collection, Mademoiselle Coco would have been proud of the inspired spectacle. Lace twinset in black and demure cream paraded along cropped tweed jackets and wide-leg denim overalls.

The finale look was this dramatic black chiffon gown accessorized in Chanel's beloved chain belt. It is truly a dress for a Chanel women. The airy chiffon, the circular pleats beautifully tied in the back will make you feel like a Chanel gift ready to be unravelled. The dress is in pristine condition and is marked size 44.

ROMANTIC LACE

Lace has always been synonymous with romance and sophisticated simplicity . A lace dress never goes out of style, as it conjures images of timeless graceful elegance (from Grace Kelly to the new Duchess of Cambridge).
This gorgeous strapless Chanel gown is a creation of Karl Lagerfeld during the second year after he joined the House of Chanel, revitalizing the spirit and the identity of Chanel. This Chantilly lace dress in midnight navy is such a modern touch against the traditional creme and black lace used often for evening wear.
The dress hugs the body beautifully due to a built in bra support structure lined by cream colored silk crepe layer, the fitted silhouette drops to ankle length in a double tier lace ruffles, scaled in front, a very thoughtful detail which will serve to show off the shoes...and most importantly much easier to dance around!!
It is the perfect dress for all occasions, social events, red carpet or just simply wear it for a romantic candlelit dinner. A timeless treasure that celebrates being a woman.

LEATHER AND LACE

It was Paris. It was during the Spring/Summer 1987 collections. And this very dress was on the runway. How do we know this? This is the actual Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld leather and lace dress modeled and is marked SAMPLE. The original owner was very lucky to score such an iconic and edgy rock 'n roll creation of leather and lace. Now that isn't a combo one normally associates with Coco Chanel, but Kaiser Karl brilliantly manipulates leather (used so often in Chanel accessories), gilt buttons with a wheat motif and double interlocking Cs (used so often on Chanel boucle suits), and lace (which Mademoiselle Coco used to make sublime evening gowns nearly 100 years ago). Throw it all together and Coco goes Downtown and we want to follow the hottie wearing this dress anywhere she's going because you know it's going to be fun.

MILK COCOA

It's that time of the year: summer is over; it's not exactly fall; it feels like spring; and you are shopping for winter! Karl Lagerfeld has figured it out with this late 80s milk cocoa Coco Chanel ten medallion button day dress of pleated silk and stylish drop seam derriere. The fabric is substantial, the silhouette is elegant, the color appropriate for September into October, but truly this is a season-less dress that is always in style regardless of the trend dejour. The dress is deadstock and the original Chanel hangtag is still attached to the dress after all these years.
