WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE
Some adventurous souls will call this a dress; while others will call it a tunic; yet sensible folk may refer to it as a evening top. If you are the type of vixen that doesn't mind showing where the sun don't shine, then wear this Fabrice as a dress. Just be sure you have Anja Rubik's legs. If you are fashionable without wanting a reality TV show, try this top as a tunic with a pair of tights. Finally if you are feeling sexy and modest then throw this top on over a pair of super skinny jeans and higher than thou heels. Fabrice brought uptown socials downtown for flashy and sexy clubbing clothes in the 1980s. His aesthetic has influenced many of the hot designers showing on the runways today who are using variations of tee-shirt dressing, ultra short mini dresses, jagged hems, and blinged-out clothing to salivate a generation of fresh-faced fashionistas.

Summer Noir
Calling Tina Turner, or any other chic woman with amazing legs, Fabrice is here. This is an uber sexy little V-neck "T" that can be dressed up or down for any occasion. If you hate all those bright floral Hawaiian patterns, this is a great alternative. Picture this, you are lying by the pool with a martini, reading some trashy novel. Throw this on to get back to the room without causing too much of a scene in the lobby. Once in the room just scrape off the Bain de Soleil, twist up the hair, and throw on a black pair of Louboutins and you are the chicest woman on the island. This dress is black chiffon that is covered in silver bead work, with a deep V neck and a pinked/saw tooth pattern at the bottom hem.

RIHANNA?
Rihanna, do you read the Decades blog? We know you shop at Decades and always find great dresses here, but this Fabrice from the early 1980s just screams you. It was custom made for a Park Avenue socialite who recalls running way downtown to meet with Fabrice and had a blast being fit by him. The result is a yellow and turquoise tafetta strapless pouf cocktail dress with signature black jet beaded trim and black cord passementrie. It's perfect for Rihanna, and it's perfect for a Decades client who loves to be noticed and isn't afraid of a strong bolt of color!
For those unfamiliar with Fabrice, his full name was Fabrice Simon and was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on Jan. 29, 1951. He moved to NYC in 1964 and by the early 1980s his elaborately beaded clothes were just what the nouveau-riche were craving. With the Stock Market crash of 1987, his business turned mostly to custom work and eventually he shuttered his business to concentrate on painting. He passed away in 1998 at the young age of 47 due to complications from AIDS.
