CONSTANCE.

Where were you in 1979? We know where this bag was as it was being created by hand at Hermes in Paris for a very lucky someone. Now, thirty five  years later, we are able to offer you this stunning Hermes Constance bag in gorgeous cognac ostrich skin. The exterior is outstanding and the interior has some flaws that are shows in the pictures. This bag is NOT currently available at Hermes (you can only special order an ostrich Constance and it will cost you around +$12,000!). Here is an opportunity to avoid the special order wait and enjoy a classic that keeps getting better every year at a MUCH gentler price :)

FINALLY A CONSTANCE

Ain't no doubt about it, but the Constance is back. Leave it to Phoebe Philo at Celine to get women excited about size-appropriate bags. The Constance is really the original chic shoulder bag and clearly an inspiration for Phoebe's Parisian shoulder bags that are causing women to rethink that bigger is better. If you want the best, turn to this Hermes smooth boxed leather Constance in the most iconic of Hermes colors, Hermes Rouge, which matches everything and we do mean everything. This is the classic Constance size and this is the bag for someone who wants to look like an informed Hermes collector and not a novice who just realized how fab it is to carry a Constance. A vintage bag from 1981, this is in very delicious condition and is perfect for the fashion insider who naturally has constantly adored the Constance.

GET YOUR ICON ON

Just back from a spa cleaning at Hermes are three completely iconic handbags that every Decades client should have in her closet. The Hermes Rouge Constance bag in boxed leather is double iconic -- the style of the bag remains a classic and the color is a signature of the House. The two Kelly bags are both wonderful vintage examples of the adored Kelly in 32 cm. These three purses are for the savvy Decades shopper looking for Hermes bags that have been adored for a few decades, but are still in wonderful pre-owned and vintage condition. These are not Hermes bags for the Decades shopper who wants a bag that looks like it came straight out of an orange Hermes box and was purchased a few hours ago.

If you love your handbags to have a little character, but still be in terrific condition, these bags are for you. Plus, they are priced at less than half the price of a brand new version of a Constance or Kelly bag, so think of the money you might save!

CHOCOLATE LOVE

We are having a chocolate craving at Decades today. The only way to satiate the craving is with these two 70s era chocolate leather Hermes bags that are classic staples in any modern woman's wardrobe. The best thing about Hermes bags in chocolate is that they are calorie-free; and consequently, won't add anything you don't want to your "lady lumps."

THE VERY DEFINITION OF A CHIC WHITE BAG

This Hermes white ostrich Constance bag is the very model of a proper white bag. What is it about white bags that generally look atrocious, yet, a white Hermes bag is always appropriate. We purchased this white ostrich Constance a few months ago and took it straight away to Paris so the Hermes Faubourg Saint-Honore boutique could lovingly refresh it for you and what a divine job they did! Although the bag is stamped for 1988, it now looks more 2008!

Get on the chic bandwagon and finally carry a white bag that doesn't look offensive. We constantly try to list Constance bags because they adjustable strap makes them go from luncheon to sporty to evening chic.

Spring will be here sooner than you know, but it's a winter white moment right now.

THE ROYAL "OUI"

We say oui, oui, oui to this deliciously hued Hermes royal blue Constance bag in Courchevel leather. The Birkins and Kellys all listed in today's postings come from the same meticulous collection of Hermes bags that were so gently used, it boggles the mind. The previous owner, who has a collection of well over one hundred Hermes bags, was so careful with the bags that she handled them with gloves. As she has such a large selection, they were used rarely on a rotating basis. The color of this bag is intoxicating and we hope you are drunk on it, too.
