YUP IT'S TIME TO CARRY THAT WHITE BAG

It's April and if you haven't added a white bag into your collection, may I suggest this vintage Hermes crossover bag in white with iconic toile "H" slanted logo might be the one to take you from winter into spring in one great luxe swoop?  Let's make this clear: the white of this bag is in need of the Hermes spa in Paris, but wear it this season and send it in the fall so you get a good 5 or 6 months of usage.  I haven't seen this exact shape before, so as a connoisseur and self-professed Hermes addict, I am extra intrigued by this bag.  It's so right now even though it's nearly fifty years old and you will be the only one sporting this chic et sportif bag.  Be one-of-a-kind and toss this across your body.

EAT YOUR BRUXELLES SPROUTS

There definitely has been a backpack moment brewing the last few years.  The kids are all wearing backpacks - be they vintage Chanel or monogram MCM.  However, if you march to a different drummer, maybe it's time to go Bruxelles chic and invest in Delvaux, a brand older than Hermes and certainly parallel in quality.  Delvaux had a store in LA on Sunset Blvd over twenty years ago that always had my interest but didn't last long on the strip.  People simply didn't know Delvaux's history (it was founded in 1829), but this bag  came from a sophisticated Angeleno who ventured to Delvaux and found this unusual backpack with straps connected to a brass ring and unusual wooden "pole".  One enters the bag via the zippered compartment, but there is also a nice outside pocket on the other side, too.  I like this bag because it doesn't look like anyone else's design.  Isn't that why we love vintage?  To have something that looks original!

A LADY WHO DOES AND A LADY WHO DOESN'T

We have two classic Hermes bags that just came out of the epic storage facility of a family that has devoted not one, but two work spaces to a collection in the tens of thousands composed of clothes and accessories.  The pieces date as far back as the 1940s from the great Hollywood designer Irene; up to the early 1990s.  The Hermes collection is vast.  We have been selling the family's Hermes leather goods over the last few months and they have all found great homes.  The 35 cm chocolate Kelly and patent leather Constance are from this impressive collection.  The brown Kelly has a little wear on the handle and a scratch here and there, but it's priced in a very friendly way.  A lady who lunches can afford to take her friends to lunch with the money she will save on this bag. The key doesn't open the lock, but that's a quick fix as Hermes will provide a correct key (that's a casualty of having 100 plus Hermes bags - locks and keys get separated).  The Constance is only for a rock 'n roll Hermes lover as the patent leather has some serious "stretch marks" although the hardware is looking wonderful. A lady who lunch need not apply.

CLASS STRUGGLE

Are you a fashionable lady or gent? Are you not working class but trying to go for that unpretentious look and need a bag to match? Look no further, this Hermes duffel bag in canvas will make you look like petite bourgeoisie going thru an inner class struggle phase. Always refined in Hermes and rarely pompous. The very sensible price tag might relieve your conscience even more and give your wallet a much needed rest.

BELT IT OUT

Ok, so I'm not one for getting too matchy-matchy. But, as soon as I saw the Hermès handbag below, it made me think of this number. There's something kind of glam about accessories that go together. And this black textured belt meets the Kelly at the best possible fashion intersection. If you ask me, it's a green light all the way.

THE GENIUS OF SPACE SAVING DESIGN

Every design that is collapsible has the same purpose; the economy of space and the economy of transportation. I have always respected collapsible design, from chairs to umbrellas or even the Swiss army knife, for their capability of transforming their shapes. I believe that was the concept behind this Hermes Flat Kelly. If folded, there is not much space to carry anything but it is nice to know that this bag can be folded when you pack it in your suitcase.
Unfolded, this Kelly is simply beautiful, especially in this amazing rose color, very feminine and chic. It is also a fraction of the price of a brand new one. It comes in its own sleeper bag and has two scratches on the inner flap. The exterior is very clean with no damages.
Besides the design and the fact that you will own an unusual beautiful Kelly, the price is what makes this bag very practical.

CONSTANTLY CONSTANCE

We have just received another Hermes Constance bag in black with gold hardware. The bag has scratches on the leather and the hardware. But as Cameron says; if there are some surface scratches inherent with a bag that is pre-owned, it is hardly a cause for concern. Rather is is a cause for celebration! At a fraction of the cost of a new Constance, this bag is an insider's choice because the next owner of this bag will not look like she just realized that the Constance is hip, but rather has known all along - since 1996 when this leather beauty was born!
